The client requested that the glass above the entryways to the plaza and another one from the adjacent street contain a reference to the water feature, the central element of the plaza, which has a figure representing the Goddess of water. The face of the goddess was developed as a cameo laminated to the front surface of the 1” thick laminated glass panels which were installed with stainless steel rods secured in tension to the walls to carry the load of the glass panels. Hardware to secure the glass panels to the stainless steel rods was imbedded within the laminated glass panels so the cast glass cameo figure could be laminated to the flat surface of the 5’ x 5’ glass panels.
